Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students across all grade levels in a dynamic school setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers diverse experience with a range of student needs, including resource, self-contained, cognitively impaired, and emotionally impaired classrooms. Assignments may be 1:1 or within group classrooms, requiring flexibility and compassion as you foster growth and learning.
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of at least 60 semester hours of college credit (official transcript required), or
- Associate degree or higher, or
- ETS Paraprofessional Assessment (minimum score: 460), or
- SAT scores of at least 480 (evidence-based reading/writing) and 530 (math)
- Adaptability to support students with varying needs, including significant cognitive and physical impairments (may include assistance with toileting/diapering)
- Willingness to work with both severe and mild-moderate needs, and remain flexible regarding assignment placement
- Previous paraprofessional, educational aide, or related school-based support experience preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom or 1:1 student support, adapting assistance for mild to severe needs
- Support students’ academic, social, and behavioral engagement throughout the school day
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and mobility support as needed
- Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and administrative staff
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for all students
