Systems Engineer

Job Description Location: McLean VA Duration: Permanent Responsibilities Analyze, understand, and document the architecture of existing IT solutions Participate in business capabilities and systems' requirements analysis Translate business requirements into IT solutions while considering constraints of existing systems and architectures Design content management and workflow solutions Design and manage servers, operating systems, middleware, and data storage and manipulation platforms Perform custom software systems design and development in collaboration with senior team members Research, assess, and adopt emerging and new technologies and paradigms Assist the Security Compliance team with implementation and maintenance of an Information and Information Systems Security Program Collaborate with the Systems Administration team to deploy technical controls to meet specific security requirements Perform audit activities to report on compliance and security configurations Conduct penetration testing to discover vulnerabilities before exploitation Qualifications 4 to 8 years of relevant professional experience OR 0 to 4 years of relevant professional experience combined with a technical degree specifically in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering Demonstrated ability to perform full life cycle software engineering using one or more modern platforms and languages (MS .NET/C#, JEE/Java, C++, etc) Firm technical understanding of networking protocols and IT systems security principles Strong desire and demonstrated potential for further development of skills and expertise in Software Systems Engineering and Development, Systems Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, IT Systems Security Ability to quickly understand stakeholder needs and articulate technical concepts and solutions Experience using standardized modelling languages and notations, such as UML, ArchiMate, and BPMN Excellent communications, teamwork, and conflict management skills Commitment to continuous learning to stay up-to-date with technological developments and changes #J-18808-Ljbffr Ask IT Consulting
