Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of acute PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiac PCU unit with 48 beds and a 1:5 patient ratio
• Patient population includes cardiac diagnoses, PCI, and pacemaker cases
• Uses Epic EMR
• Common medications include Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
• Night shift schedule from 6:45pm-7:15am, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required per unit need
• ANM support provided on the unit

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
• Skilled in IV therapy, PCA, feeding tubes, wound vac, CBI, trach care, and central line care
• Must be able to read telemetry and titrate medications

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical interventions
• Provides patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge planning
• Mentors and precepts staff while supervising licensed and non-licensed personnel
• Participates in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and practice governance initiatives
• No local rate drop for candidates residing in the area
