Interventional Radiology Tech

Overview Performs complex specialized tasks operating radiographic equipment for interventional procedures. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision, and Values. What You Will Do Performs quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods. Assists in the development of others through guidance and teaching. Promotes professional practice of all members of the radiological services team. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures. Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner. Demonstrates professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions. Education/Formal Training Requirements Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology. Work Experience Requirements Interventional radiologic technologist, with demonstrated clinical competencies in special procedures, 1–3 years. Licenses and Certifications Requirements BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association. Registered Radiologic Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Preferred – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – American Heart Association. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers. Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred). Supervision Provided by this Position No supervisory or lead responsibilities, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities to other associates and observe and instruct student technologists. Physical Demands Climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently. Close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform activities such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading. Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids as well as hazardous or poisonous materials. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
