About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years preferred, will consider candidates with 1-2 years of experience License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Previous charge experience is required. Must be able to circulate for C-sections. Experience with Epic charting system is required. Description: This position is for a high-risk labor and delivery unit. The unit has an average delivery volume of 2,100 deliveries per year. Transfers are accepted with management by obstetricians. All obstetric practices operate as private entities with delivery privileges. There are no laborists on staff. Only family practice will provide midwife coverage. The facility includes a Level 3 NICU. This is not an LDRP setup. The nurse will be required to circulate for C-sections. The patient ratio is generally 2:1. Every other weekend shift is required. The unit supports a team nursing approach. Travelers must be prepared to float to maternal and mother-baby units as needed. Assistance can be provided to other departments for help as required. The facility promotes a collaborative interdisciplinary support environment. Special procedures such as medication conversion and massive transfusion protocols are performed. Equipment used includes fetal monitors and rapid transfusion devices. Drug screening is required prior to start.
