Material Handler

Material HandlerThe Material Handler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and inventory operations to ensure accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and products. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production through work order kitting, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.ResponsibilitiesAssist with the development of and maintain production schedules to meet internal customer demands and production targetsCoordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materialsMonitor production progress and make adjustments as necessary to stay on scheduleAnalyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvementsCollaborate with engineering and quality assurance to resolve production issuesPrepare weekly and monthly production reports across several concurrent projectsFacilitate communication between engineering, procurement, and production teamsParticipate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss production goals and strategiesOperate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required.Assist with receiving inspections and non-conforming material segregation when necessary.Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and inventory control processes.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse and inventory operations.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control preferred.Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or production environment preferred.Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as Deltek Costpoint or similar inventory systems preferred.Ability to read work orders, packing slips, shipping documents, and inventory reports.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.Preferred Skills and ExperienceUnderstanding of inventory control principles and warehouse best practices.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.Essential Mental RequirementsExcellent written and spoken communication skills for documentation, intra-team, and interdisciplinary communicationAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to read, analyze, and interpret complex documentationAbility to analyze problems using scientific and logical thinkingPossess strong organizational and detail-oriented skillsAbility to multi-task effectivelyPreferred AttributesStrong sense of accountability and reliability.Proactive problem-solving mindset.Ability to support fast-paced operations while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.Work EnvironmentWarehouse and manufacturing environment.May require occasional overtime or schedule flexibility to support operational demands.Exposure to moving equipment, shipping materials, and production activities.Essential Physical RequirementsComputer, phone, photocopiers, and fax machinesBasic computer operating systemsMicrosoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project)Our Heritage:Founded in 1998 by an engineer, AVT Simulation is an Orlando-based, end-to-end systems integration and full-service modeling and simulation small business.
