Laboratory Technician/Manager

Role: Lab Technician/Manager with Data Center Location: Houston, TX (Onsite) Duration: Contract Job Description Experience in data center operations Planning and tracking upcoming qualifications Expertise in Azure DevOps, PowerBI, and MS Excel Driving project management planning and TRR meetings Co‑ordinating with offshore and on‑shore teams Co‑ordinating with PMs and lab technicians for day‑to‑day operations Co‑ordinating with Microsoft qualification leads on progress updates, bug qualification reports, etc. Creating documents based on new learnings and sharing with the team Identifying and suggesting automation opportunities Working with Supply Chain and Capacity Planning teams to plan qualifications of components (DIMMs, HDD, SATA, SSD, M.2, NVMe, E1‑L, E1‑S) Reviewing priorities between production and spares to create allocation plans for constrained materials Co‑ordinating with Logistics for packing and shipping SKU to manufacturer Supporting lab shipping/receiving logistics and managing inventory of equipment and materials Maintaining excellent communication with customers and internal teams Keeping current knowledge of security and networking best practices to provide optimal solutions and protection for company systems Managing the lab as needed while maintaining area in accordance with safety standards Managing and maintaining test hardware, test racks, and test equipment in the lab Server architecture and debugging server components Diagnosing and troubleshooting servers and technical issues Hands‑on experience with cabling, power distribution, rack mounting, and other data centre operations Installing and configuring Windows, Ubuntu, and CentOS operating systems via ISO, VHD, WDSSCCM, PXE server, and USB Installing, maintaining, and supporting network equipment including VPNs, firewalls, routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, SCCMPXE, DNS, and DHCP Setting up and maintaining a small cluster of virtual machine hosts hosting 100 VMs Leading training sessions within the team Position is 100% in‑person during business hours, following the customer holiday calendar Procuring network equipment and managing its installation Designing, implementing, and improving new network solutions for efficiency Configuring firewalls, routers, and switches to maximise network efficiency and security Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting Arranging scheduled upgrades Investigating network faults Updating network equipment (CISCO, Arista, Dell) to the latest firmware releases Reporting network status to key stakeholders #J-18808-Ljbffr Quantum World Technologies Inc.
