Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides comprehensive patient care, ensuring the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment aligned with age-specific criteria. This role requires accountability for patient outcomes and collaboration with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality emergency care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions rapidly upon arrival to determine priority and required interventions.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and clinical assessments.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions following established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians, LPNs, PCTs, and other staff to coordinate patient care effectively.
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document all patient interactions and care activities accurately in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Ohio/OH or Compact RN license.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Room experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with current skills relevant to emergency nursing, as documented in the skills checklist.
• Maintain active American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
• Show evidence of a strong clinical background and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
