Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Mids Shift: 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively to the care team
• Administer medications accurately and monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions
• Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in anticipating and planning for safe patient care delivery
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care activities in the EMR system (MedHost/EDIS)
• Delegate patient care priorities appropriately based on the education and experience of available staff; float to other units as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
• Ability to comply with New Mexico state fingerprinting requirements (agency must be registered with the state of New Mexico)
• Ability to call out no less than 2 hours prior to shift start if unable to report
• Knowledge of safety standards, infection control practices, and quality improvement initiatives

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Prior experience with MedHost or EDIS electronic medical record systems
• Experience in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department setting
