Assistant Professor (CHS)

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Allergist/Immunologist to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.

This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%

This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

Clinical expectations include providing outpatient clinical care for pediatric patients with allergic diseases, asthma, positive newborn SCID screens, inborn errors of immunity, and inpatient consultations for patients admitted to the American Family Children's Hospital.

Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Opportunities to participate and lead clinical research in allergy/immunology related areas collaboratively with other SMPH faculty.

Participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research in Pediatric Allergy-Immunology missions of the division and department.

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 230 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. The department promotes and enhances the health of children through outstanding clinical care, exemplary education of pediatric trainees, performance of cutting-edge research, and vigorous advocacy.

Compensation: Negotiable, 12 month

Required Qualifications:

• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics or equivalent is required by the appointment start date.
• Board certified or board eligible in Allergy-Immunology through the American Board of Allergy-Immunology is required by the appointment start date.
• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Allergy-Immunology is required by the appointment start date.
• Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required.
• The candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.
• Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS or CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT Track.

Education: MD, DO, or equivalent is required
