Join our team as an Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician and play a key role in helping physicians diagnose and monitor heart conditions. EKG Technicians perform diagnostic cardiac testing, operate specialized equipment, and provide compassionate patient care while ensuring accurate and timely results. This position is ideal for healthcare professionals who are detail-oriented, enjoy working directly with patients, and have an interest in cardiovascular care.

Position Details

• Position: Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician
• Job Type: Full-Time Contract
• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
• Location: Healthcare Facility Setting
• Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Perform 12-lead EKGs and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures.
• Prepare patients for testing and explain procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Accurately record and document cardiac rhythm data.
• Identify and report abnormal cardiac rhythms or findings to appropriate clinical staff.
• Maintain EKG equipment and ensure proper operation.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with related cardiovascular diagnostic services as assigned.
• Provide professional and compassionate patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Part 1 and Part 2 Basic ECG Course required.
• Must successfully pass an EKG Rhythm Recognition Test.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and EKG monitoring.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six (6) months of ECG/EKG experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, telemetry, or cardiac monitoring setting.
