Sports Medicine Physician – Independent Practice Track (MedCBO Supported) A Sports Medicine Physician will operate an independently owned practice with structured operational support from MedCBO for non‑clinical functions. The physician retains full clinical authority and governs all patient‑care policies, while MedCBO manages administrative, financial, and compliance services. Physician Responsibilities Provide clinical care within the physician’s scope of practice. Develop professional relationships within the medical community. Coordinate payer credentialing and maintain active privileges as required. Determine clinical services offered. Manage clinical quality and patient experience. Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination. Billing and collections management. Payer contract negotiation. Financial infrastructure and reporting. Operational workflows and staffing systems. Technology platform and implementation. Requirements MD or DO with an unrestricted license in good standing in the intended state of practice. Board Certified or Board Eligible in a specialty appropriate to the clinical services provided. Eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable. Ability to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates. No current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions that would prevent independent practice. Interest in the independent practice model. Preferred Qualities Desire for practice ownership. Community‑based care interest. Leadership or program development interest. Location Multiple U.S. markets available (urban, suburban, and rural). Relocation and market selection are physician‑directed, subject to licensure.
