Quality InspectorAt Saab in West Lafayette, IN, you have the opportunity to join a team that manufactures the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force. This flagship facility utilizes advanced manufacturing techniques and leverages research and development to support Saab's broad product portfolio. As Saab continues to expand their team in West Lafayette, IN, we are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to support the operation. Responsibilities include:Authorize assembly process completion and support the assembly team with in-process inspections during the build processValidate, visually and dimensionally, that the product meets requirements compared to engineering drawingsInspect for defects in surfaces, fasteners, sealant, paint, and testingCompile technical data and reports to provide feedback on final inspection results and recommended corrective actionsDevelop deviation reports and represent quality at the Material Review BoardResponsible for monitoring non-conforming material processes and proceduresDeliver high level of workmanship in inspection processes for structural assembly and system installationsParticipate in tooling validation and application to meet product requirements in quality and efficienciesSupport metrology measures as neededDevelop standardization for working procedures for high repeatabilityContribute to a people-first culture in alignment to Saab values, demonstrating core Company values: Trust, Drive, Expertise, and SupportOther tasks as assigned and authorizedCompensation: Base hourly rate up to $25.00 per hourThe compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.Skills and Experience:High school degree or equivalent requiredMinimum 2+ years relevant quality inspection experience in manufacturing is requiredQuality inspection experience in aeronautics or automotive manufacturing field preferredTechnical degree or certification in the field of air structure assembly or related technical field is a plusExperience with ISO/AS9100 and highly standardized processes preferredWorking knowledge of industry customer BACS is a plusStrong communication skills and ability to work as part of a high-performance teamProficiency interpreting engineering drawings and specifications in written and digital format is a plusExperience executing appropriate working methods and selecting the correct tools to achieve quality and efficiency standardsAbility to work with standardized procedures for high repeatability in a highly advanced and connected environmentMust be self-mobile and able to stand for extended periodsAbility to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, twisting, grasping, gripping, standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, and reaching throughout a normal work shiftAbility to regularly lift up to 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds on occasionHearing and vision within normal ranges is necessary for accurate quality product inspectionAbility to work extended hours and weekend overtime when requiredCitizenship Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).Drug-Free Workplaces:Saab is a federal government contractor and adheres to policies and programs necessary for sustaining drug-free workplaces.
