Summary of Job Duties:

The Warehouse and Inventory Worker is responsible for managing warehouse and inventory operations through the receipt, storage, organization, distribution, and tracking of materials, supplies, and equipment. This position receives and verifies incoming shipments, maintains inventory records, prepares and processes outgoing shipments, and ensures warehouse areas remain organized and safe.

Under the direction of management, the Warehouse and Inventory Worker assists with purchasing, local vendor pick-ups, campus deliveries, inventory control activities, and customer service functions. This position utilizes inventory management systems to maintain accurate records, monitor stock levels, and support inventory audits and physical counts. The Warehouse and Inventory Worker regularly operates material handling equipment and must be able to perform physical work in a warehouse environment, including lifting and moving heavy materials.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial and professional working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
• Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving, stockroom operations, or related fields
• Experience utilizing inventory management or warehouse management systems
• Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial equipment
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of inventory control, stock management, and records maintenance practices
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, packaging, and warehouse procedures
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices related to warehouse operations
• Ability to accurately verify deliveries against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation
• Ability to maintain manual and computerized inventory records
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments
• Ability to provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with vendors, delivery personnel, and internal customers
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and work in varying environmental conditions
