Job Type: Contract, Remote (Must be CA Based), Full-Time


Contract Duration: 8-12 Months (possibility for contract to hire or contract extension)


Pay Range: $75 - $85 per hour

LHH is partnering with a biotechnology client to identify a Contracts Manager for a 6-12 month contract based in San Francisco, California. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical contracting experience along with hands-on experience supporting other functional groups such as CMC, Medical Affairs, R&D, and Regulatory. You will support both clinical and cross-functional teams by leading the negotiation, execution, and management of a broad range of agreements. This position requires someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced biotech environment, partner effectively with diverse stakeholders, and proactively mitigate contractual risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and negotiate a diverse portfolio of agreements, including clinical trial agreements and contracts supporting CMC, R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and other internal teams.
  
  
• Ensure alignment with company policies, legal standards, and applicable privacy regulations across all contract types.
  
  
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to streamline contract negotiation and execution.
  
  
• Serve as a primary liaison between internal departments and external vendors, CROs, consultants, and research partners.
  
  
• Maintain accurate and complete contract data within the contract lifecycle management system.
  
  
• Help balance contract workload across the Contracts Team to ensure timely turnaround.
  
  
• Provide process guidance and training on contract templates, obligations, and best practices in coordination with in-house counsel.
  
  
• Contribute to improvements in template management, negotiation playbooks, and internal policies.
  
  
• Communicate contract status, risks, and progress updates clearly and proactively to stakeholders.
  
  
• Support special projects and cross-departmental initiatives as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
  
  
• 5+ years of experience negotiating and managing a wide range of agreements, including CDAs, MSAs, service agreements, consulting agreements, software/SaaS agreements, SOWs, amendments, and change orders.
  
  
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with clinical trial agreements and supporting clinical operations.
  
  
• Demonstrated experience supporting additional biotech functional areas, including CMC, Medical Affairs, R&D, and Regulatory (strongly preferred).
  
  
• Deep understanding of key legal terms and the ability to identify and mitigate risk.
  
  
• Strong knowledge of clinical operations, and experience partnering with CROs.
  
  
• Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and e-signature platforms.
  
  
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  
  
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
