Legal Administrative Assistant (Hybrid - Rocky Hill, CT)

Job Description This Legal Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for the Client Legal Services Attorneys supporting the Connecticut office, based in Rocky Hill, CT. This is a hybrid role with an expectation to work onsite on a monthly basis. The role supports litigation and bodily injury matters and is responsible for entering and managing case‑related data including pleadings, motions, and all trial, arbitration, and mediation correspondence. The individual manages calendars, files, and related events in case management systems and supports the full lifecycle of files, including closing and archiving. The position also monitors and routes internal and external communications, works closely with attorneys, courts, and vendors, and ensures high‑quality client service. Key Responsibilities Provide legal and administrative support to the Connecticut office and Client Legal Services Attorneys, with a focus on litigation and bodily injury matters Open and maintain new lawsuits, ensuring accurate setup and ongoing management within case management systems Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, including Connecticut court dates, deadlines, depositions, hearings, and case management orders Prepare, draft, file, and serve pleadings and legal documents in both paper and electronic formats, including e‑filing through the Connecticut Judicial Branch e‑filing system Process and manage high volumes of electronic correspondence related to pleadings, filings, court communications, and case activity Serve as a primary point of contact for courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders, maintaining professional and timely communication Manage document organization, indexing, version control, and maintenance of case files to ensure accuracy and compliance Draft routine correspondence and documents for attorney review and approval Monitor deadlines, procedural rules, and court requirements to ensure timely and compliant filings Demonstrate initiative by anticipating case and attorney needs, taking ownership of assigned work, and collaborating effectively with team members Skills and Qualifications Strong typing speed with a high level of accuracy Excellent organizational, prioritization, and follow‑up skills with the ability to manage strict deadlines Ability to take initiative while working under attorney direction and established procedures Experience supporting multiple attorneys simultaneously in a litigation‑focused environment Demonstrated experience with heavy scheduling, calendar management, and coordination of court‑related activities Insurance defense, bodily injury, or legal administrative experience preferred Familiarity with Connecticut litigation practices and the Connecticut Judicial Branch e‑filing system is strongly preferred Supervisory Responsibilities This role does not have supervisory duties. Location Hybrid, based out of the Rocky Hill, Connecticut office. Monthly in‑office attendance is required. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of Rocky Hill, CT. Compensation Compensation offered for this role is $19.76 – $30.33 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications. The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation. Additional Information Allstate provides a comprehensive technology setup, including a laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse. Employees eligible to work from home also receive a monthly connectivity reimbursement to help offset internet costs. When working from home, you must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating. Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
