Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Oncology Department Bring your passion to Texas Health so that we are Better +Together Work location Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours PRN II (7P-7A) As Needed - Requires at least 3 shifts per 6 week schedule with occasional weekend and holiday requirements Department highlights Self‑Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Fast‑paced, high‑volume Oncology Department (35 beds). Patients are admitted to this floor for multiple diseases such as Leukemia, Sepsis, Lymphoma, Melanoma, Breast, Kidney/Pancreatic cancers, pain management and med/surg overflow. This is a mixed acuity unit. You will have the opportunity to build your skills caring for higher acuity PCU patients with a lower patient ratio. Requirements Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required BSN preferred One year experience as a RN required Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire Current BLS (required) – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly CPI training within 90 days of hire (required) 2+ years of inpatient oncology RN experience and charge/preceptor skills (preferred) Successful completion of the ONS – Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate within 6 months of hire required OCN – Oncology Certified Nurse within 2 years of hire preferred Responsibilities Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process Assesses the patient Plans the care of the patient Intervenes as appropriate Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions Incorporates age‑specific safety/infection control measures into patient care Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information Maintains continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out‑of‑hospital transfers Benefits 401(k), PTO, medical, dental, Paid Parental Leave, flexible spending, tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment program and several other benefits Delivery of high quality patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice Strong Unit Based Council (UBC) A supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employees or applicants for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class. #J-18808-Ljbffr
