Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere.We are searching for a full-time Special Education Teacher to join our Glenville Clover Patch preschool program in Glenville, NY.Full-time Special Education Teacher hires are eligible for up to $6,000. Payments are subject to the terms of the incentive program, including continued active employment and good standing.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing students’ Individualized Education PlansDevelop and implements lesson plans incorporating goals/objectives from all disciplines of each student's IEP.Implements and monitors behavior and classroom management plans/techniques when necessaryDevelops and adheres to an established daily schedule making daily modifications/adjustments as requiredMaintains communication with classroom team, parents and program directors regarding students' performanceDevelops lesson plans incorporating the IEP goals and objectives for each studentReinforces appropriate student behavior by utilizing progressive discipline techniquesEstablishes communicates and monitors clear expectations for both students and classroom staffRequirements:Minimum Qualifications:Initial NYS Certification in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities Birth – Grade 2 or Special Education PermanentBachelor’s degree in Special EducationIndividual without a Master’s degree must demonstrate plans to obtain a master’s degree within a five-year timeframe.Must be at least 18 years oldMust be able to lift 50 pounds independentlyThis position requires a Master’s degree; however, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree may be hired initially, as New York State allows individuals with an Initial Certification to teach while completing their Master’s degree within a five-year timeframe.At The Center for Disability Services, we don’t just accept difference – we celebrate it, support it, and thrive on it for the benefit of our employees and the people we support.
