Cabinet Maker / Millworker
ASBURY CABINETS & MILLWORK LLC
Job Description
Job Description
If you're tired of being boxed into one task on the line — cutting, sanding, or running the same machine day after day — this shop works differently. Asbury Cabinets builds custom cabinets and architectural millwork using a mix of hand craftsmanship and modern automated equipment, and we want people who can move across the whole process, not just one piece of it.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Build custom cabinetry and architectural millwork from shop drawings, working through layout, machining, assembly, and finish-out.
Work hands-on with our CNC and automated equipment alongside traditional joinery and finishing techniques — we'll train the equipment side if you bring the right mindset.
Move between projects and tasks as the shop needs — this is not a single-station, single-function role.
Catch problems before they become expensive: check your own work, flag issues with materials or specs early, and hold a high standard without being told to.
As you prove out, take on more ownership — mentoring newer builders, sequencing jobs, or helping lead a shop area, depending on where your strengths land.
What We're Looking For
Solid hand-skills background in cabinetry, millwork, carpentry, or a closely related trade.
A mechanically minded, production-oriented outlook — you like figuring out how a machine or process works, not just running the same cut over and over.
Genuinely open to learning CNC and shop automation. You don't need to already run a CNC — you need to want to.
Comfortable reading shop drawings and cut lists, and holding tight tolerances on finished work.
Reliable, low-drama, and takes pride in the work.
Also a Strong Fit If You Have
Solid surface fabrication experience (templating, seaming, finishing).
Prior lead, foreman, or shop supervision experience.
CNC programming or CAD/CAM experience (Cabinet Vision, AlphaCam, or similar).
Even without direct cabinet experience: if you're a strong mechanical or production-minded person with real leadership instincts, we want to talk to you. We're more interested in trajectory than a perfect resume match.
Why This Shop
You won't be stuck doing one task forever — the role is built to grow with you, toward a shop lead or specialist track based on what you're good at.
We invest in equipment and process, not just labor — you'll be building with tools that keep getting better, not fighting outdated ones.
We're hiring for the right person, not to fill a seat by Friday — that means real onboarding, real training, and a team that isn't stretched thin.

Company DescriptionAsbury Cabinets & Millwork is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business building custom cabinets, architectural millwork, commercial casework, and solid surface fabrication. We're eight years in and still a small shop — three people total — but our investment in modern automated equipment lets us take on work most shops our size can't touch. Every hire matters here: there's no room to hide on a three-person team, and no ceiling on how much ownership you can take on. If you want to build with real tools, work directly with the people who own the business, and grow with a shop that's still finding its shape, this is a good place to do it.
