About the Position

The nurse will be responsible for patient assessments and managing complex care needs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:3 during days and nights. The environment supports high acuity cases including respiratory failure, sepsis, and cardiac arrest. Nurses are expected to manage ventilated patients and administer continuous IV sedation. Candidates should be proficient in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Isolation precautions and PPE must be adhered to as per hospital protocols. Interdisciplinary support will be part of the care delivery model. The unit may require floating to a stepdown unit or handling lower acuity patients when necessary. There will be opportunities to develop skills in a high-acuity setting.
