Registered Nurse - Cardiac and Stroke Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts, 4x12 hours, from 18:45 to 07:15. Weekend rotation required.

Job Description

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in a challenging and fast-paced cardiac and stroke unit. You will provide high-quality care to patients with cardiac conditions, including pre and post-operation management, telemetry, and multiple cardiac drips. This role is pivotal in ensuring patient safety and comfort in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for cardiac and stroke patients, including pre and post procedural care.
• Administer IV medications and titrate cardiac drips as needed.
• Maintain telemetry and monitor vital signs for unstable and stable patients.
• Conduct patient assessments, report significant changes, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in unit operations, including admissions and discharges with assistance from the team lead.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, particularly for COVID patients in the unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar high-acuity unit.
• Current RN licensure.
• ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Telemetry and cardiac drip management experience preferred.
