This position serves as a Community Engagement Specialist at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Region, Office of Policy, International Affairs & Environment (APL), National Engagement and Regional Administration (ARA). Primary responsibilities are to support all community engagement activities in the Regional Administrator's office, including engagement related to aviation noise.

Duties include performing a key role in public engagement activities, such as coordination with FAA lines of business and staff offices, planning and execution of public workshops, working with internal or external stakeholders, and/or providing project management support. Responsibilities also include serving as the primary focal point for resolution and collection of noise related issues/complaints. Supports the Community Engagement Officers (CEO) in developing, coordinating, and presenting agency positions on community outreach activities and other FAA projects likely to generate community noise concerns.

Requirements include US citizenship and selective service registration for males born after 12/31/1959. To qualify for this position at the FV-I Level, candidates must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in this position.

Salary is $85,001 - $131,739 per year, including 18.18% for the duty location of Kansas City, Missouri. The position is full-time, permanent, and located in Kansas City, MO, with occasional travel required.
