Position Overview
Vertical Holding Group/Victory Electric is seeking a Director of Operations & Safety to lead operational excellence, accountability, and consistency across all companies.
This role is responsible for bridging the gap between office and field, enforcing standards, and building systems that allow each company to scale effectively. The right candidate will ensure that our processes, people, and performance are aligned - creating an organization that runs efficiently, predictably, and independently of any one individual.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on execution, accountability, and continuous improvement, with the goal of positioning the organization for long-term growth.

Core Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Standardization
- Develop, implement, and enforce company-wide SOPs
- Standardize processes across:
- Project lifecycle
- Field operations
- Shop/production
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Ensure consistency across all business units while respecting trade differences
2. Field & Office Alignment
- Bridge communication and execution gaps between:
- Project Managers
- Superintendents
- Field teams
- Shop/installation teams
- Establish clear expectations for:
- Jobsite performance
- Communication cadence
- Documentation standards
- Increase field visibility and leadership presence
3. Accountability & Role Clarity
- Define and enforce clear roles and responsibilities
- Hold individuals accountable to expectations and performance standards
- Support leadership in addressing performance gaps
- Build a culture of ownership, not dependency
4. Safety Leadership
- Own and lead the company-wide safety program
- Ensure compliance across all jobsites and operations
- Partner with:
- Nebraska Safety Council
- Insurance providers
- Implement proactive safety training and accountability systems
5. KPI Development & Performance Management
- Establish and track key operational metrics, including:
- Project margins
- Schedule adherence
- Cost-to-complete accuracy
- Change order management
- Safety performance
- Provide leadership with clear, actionable reporting
- Identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement
6. Financial & Operational Insight
- Understand and analyze:
- Job cost performance
- Margin erosion
- Operational inefficiencies
- Identify:
- Cost deficits
- Gaps in execution
- Opportunities to improve profitability
- Partner with accounting and leadership to drive better decisions
7. Growth & Scalability
- Support continued growth across all companies
- Build systems that allow teams to scale without breaking
- Reduce reliance on owner involvement in day-to-day operations
- Create a structure that supports long-term sustainability
Ideal Candidate
- 7–15+ years of experience in construction operations, field leadership, or multi-entity operations
- Proven ability to:
- Build and implement systems
- Drive accountability
- Improve operational performance
- Strong understanding of:
- Project lifecycle
- Field operations
- Cost management
- Experience working across:
- Multiple teams, departments, or business units
- Ability to:
- Influence without authority
- Communicate clearly across all levels
- Hold people accountable while maintaining strong relationships
