Industrial Pipefitter / Welder — Remote Travel

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Pipefitter / Welder to install and repair industrial process piping and machine utility systems at manufacturing facilities. You will work independently and with a multi-trade installation crew on piping layouts, equipment connections, and system testing. This position involves nationwide travel and is focused on industrial installations rather than commercial plumbing.

Location: Fall River, MA, with nationwide travel
Schedule: Full-time with overtime; typical 11-day rotations

Key Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, install, modify, and repair process and utility piping from drawings, isometrics , P&IDs , field measurements, and project requirements.
• Work with PVC, CPVC, copper, galvanized steel, stainless steel, black steel, and other industrial piping materials.
• Use ProPress, MegaPress, Victaulic/grooved, threaded, soldered, brazed, and welded joining methods as required.
• Fit and weld carbon and stainless piping using MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding , based on demonstrated skill and project requirements.
• Install process water, chilled water, compressed air, hydraulic, gas, steam, chemical, drain, and machine utility piping as applicable.
• Install valves, regulators, strainers, supports, hangers, instrumentation connections, and equipment tie-ins .
• Measure, cut, prepare, fit, and assemble piping; check routing, slope, clearances, and support locations against drawings and specifications.
• Pressure-test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair piping systems, including leaks and fit-up issues.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, lifts, and other material-handling equipment when qualified.
• Coordinate with plumbers, millwrights, electricians, controls technicians, and project leaders on machine installation and plant relocation projects.
• Follow jobsite safety requirements, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) , confined-space procedures, and hot-work rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of industrial pipefitting experience in manufacturing, process, or heavy industrial environments.
• Ability to lay out and install piping from prints, isometrics, P&IDs, and field measurements.
• Experience with multiple pipe materials, including PVC/CPVC, copper, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and black steel.
• Experience with several of the listed mechanical, threaded, soldered/brazed, and welded joining methods.
• Demonstrated pipe fit-up and welding capability for industrial installations.
• Ability to pressure-test, troubleshoot, inspect, modify, and repair piping systems.
• Ability to work extended shifts and at height, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for overnight and weekend assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Confined Space Entry certification.
• AWS or another relevant welding certification, or demonstrated TIG/Stick pipe-welding proficiency.
• Experience with machine/process piping, plant relocations, utility tie-ins, wastewater, chillers, or chemical/process systems.
• Forklift, aerial lift, or rigging training.
