Opportunity:

This is a Temp-to-Hire role. Candidates must be aware that training on first shift for at least two months is required, and performance during this period will determine when they can permanently transition to second shift.

Required Experience & Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years machining experience in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
• Able to set up and operate a minimum of five CNC machine types.
• Mill experience is a plus.

Technical Skills & Expertise:

• Operate CNC lathes (Mill experience is a plus) and set up/edit programs at the machine.
• Read and interpret aerospace blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Machining experience with aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, Inconel, aluminum).
• Proficient with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, CMMs).
• Familiar with AS9100/NADCAP standards and cleanroom protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and implement solutions independently.
• Formal CNC machining certifications (NIMS, trade school) are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC lathes/mills to produce parts according to blueprints and work instructions.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Run multiple machines efficiently and adapt tooling as needed.
• Create, prove out, and edit CNC programs using I.G.F software.
• Inspect finished parts for precision and compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve drawing errors and suggest process improvements.
• Train and mentor less experienced team members.
• Contribute to lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain equipment, work area cleanliness, and comply with safety standards.

Essential Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience implementing lean/continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to read and understand complex drawings, blueprints, and instructions.
