About the Position

Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 8.5 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Licensure with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. - Licensure with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy Description: Shift times are 8 PM - 7:30 AM, Wednesday to Tuesday. This is a 7 on/7 off position. The hospital has 350 beds, including L&D, NICU, PICU, Nursery, Postpartum, and 2 ICUs. The staff includes evening pharmacists and technicians who work from 3 PM to 11 PM, along with a night pharmacist and technician from 8 PM to 7:30 AM. The day shift order entry pharmacist comes in at 6 AM with a counter technician. The night pharmacist and technician work alone from 11 PM to 6 AM. Patients are cared for across various departments, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and the elderly. Pharmacy procedures include order verification, pharmacy consult management, controlled substance processes, and answering drug information questions. Candidates with experience in Meditech, Vigilanz, Pyxis, and DoseEdge are preferred. The pharmacy team emphasizes teamwork and supporting one another in a fast-paced environment. There is a focus on learning and gaining experience while caring for a diverse patient population. An IV workflow software is utilized to enhance IV preparation and verification. The team includes a highly dependable night-shift technician who is a valuable resource.
