Job Description This role is a Temporary Per Diem Patient Care Technician position within Johns Hopkins Intrastaff. The position is on‑site at various locations within the Johns Hopkins Health System. Pay rate is $25.00 - $27.00 per hour. Schedule is variable across locations. Overview Johns Hopkins Intrastaff provides temporary staffing for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals. Employees work in a supportive environment with diverse teams of health‑care professionals. Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, and toileting. Perform ECGs, finger sticks, foley catheter insertion/care/removal, sterile technique, IV care, nutritional support, patient mobility, vital signs, changing beds, replenishing supplies, and assist with specific treatments and procedures. Communicate with patients, families, and nursing staff to provide excellent interpersonal care. Read and interpret equipment readings in conjunction with patient information. Operate and troubleshoot patient care equipment. Be aware of potential exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, radiation, and pharmacological agents. Stand, walk, lift, and position patients, transport wheelchairs, beds, and equipment. Maintain manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination for delegated patient care procedures. Coping with aggressive or combative patients as required. Adhere to work availability and unit scheduling requirements. Minimum Education Required High School Diploma or GED. Additional Qualifications At least one year of Patient Care Technician experience in an inpatient hospital setting within the last three years. Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR). Active Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
