Sector‑Focused Training and Employment Placement Pathways : Providing specialized training, employment placement pathways, Summer Youth Employment, Work Learning Grow initiatives, and aiding residents in accessing new employment opportunities. Community & Economic Empowerment Services : Enabling community progress through community centers, resident services, food access, financial literacy programs, and support accessing benefits and wellness services. We collaborate with government, corporate, and philanthropic partners to effect significant and lasting social change, fostering thriving communities. Position Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic College & Career Advisor to support high school students in the Bronx as they explore post‑secondary pathways. This part‑time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a youth‑centered environment and is committed to educational equity. The Advisor will lead engaging workshops, provide one‑on‑one guidance, and collaborate with school and community partners to help students navigate the college and career planning process. Responsibilities Student Engagement Recruit 9th–12th grade students for the Bridge 2 College and Careers Program. Facilitate interactive workshops on college access topics including applications (CUNY, SUNY, Common App), essay writing, financial aid (FAFSA, TAP, CSS Profile), and scholarship searches. Provide individualized advising to students and families on college and career planning. Write recommendation letters and support students in securing additional references. Maintain a comfortable learning environment, implement clear, consistent age‑appropriate expectations and rules, and ensure classroom cleanliness and organization. Family and Community Engagement Lead parent workshops on college admissions and financial aid processes including FAFSA, TAP and CSS Profile completion. Collaborate with school staff, Phipps team members, and external partners to support student success. Represent the program professionally in all communications. Events and Enrichment Coordinate and chaperone college tours, fairs, and overnight trips. Support planning and execution of college and career readiness events. Administration and Data Management Maintain student records and track progress in Salesforce. Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions. Enforce program policies and manage materials and technology use. Perform additional duties as assigned by Program Leadership. Qualifications Some college credits completed; currently enrolled in a college program; bachelor’s degree preferred. Familiarity with NYC public school system and college application process. Experience in youth development, lesson planning, or student advising. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce. Preferred Attributes Bilingual (Spanish). Creative, proactive, and organized. High initiative and urgency. Social media fluency (Instagram/Facebook).
