Patient Care Sitter

The Patient Care Sitter works under the supervision of leadership. Administers quality patient care according to established standards. Follows direction of RN/LPN or physician. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous observation of the patient.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for the patient. Observes safety and infection control standards.
• Observes and reports any changes in the patient's physical, emotional, and mental conditions.
• Provides the patient with a sense of security and protects the patient from injury.
• Receives report about the patient regarding the plan of care for dealing with the patient's activities.
• Displays a friendly, positive attitude and communicates with patients using AIDET and displays HEART Behavior.
• Completion of mandatory education and in-services prior to designated deadline.
• Documents patient observations in a timely manner in the EMR.
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• H.S. Diploma - or GED or HiSET equivalent - Required

Work Experience

• 1 Year - Satisfactory work experience in healthcare - Required

Licenses and Certifications

• CPI: Nonviolent Crisis Intervention - Non-violent patient intervention must be obtained during initial training period. - Required Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required
