Noon Aide

We have several part-time, 2 to 2.25-hour openings for a 9.5-month employee, Monday through Friday at various school sites for the 2025 2026 school year. The work hours vary by site/position.

Basic function: To provide a safe environment for students during morning and noon times.

Examples Of Duties

Essential job functions:

• Playground supervision of students during playtime and arrival time, ensuring that students are respecting others and demonstrating proper and safe use of the equipment.
• The willingness and ability to move about the assigned work area, being visible and interacting with the kids in a positive manner.
• Resolve student conflicts and develop solutions to student issues.
• Managing the behavior of students during their lunchtime. This includes moving among students while they are eating, reminding them to pick up their trash and excusing them to the playground in a safe manner.
• Other appropriate duties as assigned.

Experience: None required. Education: Equivalent to the completion of high school.

Supplemental Information

Physical demands: Persons performing service in this position classification will be expected to perform light work, which involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

• Qualified applicants, who meet the minimum qualifications, will participate in a written examination and technical oral interview, which will demonstrate the required knowledge and skill for this classification. The weight percentage of the examination and interview will be 50/50. Those applicants who receive a passing score on the written exam and oral interview will be placed on an eligibility list. The top three ranks of candidates on the eligibility list, who are ready, willing and able to accept the position, will be invited to the final selection interview with the hiring authority.
• The eligibility list will be certified for a period of six months. It will be used to fill current substitute and future permanent openings.
• Current classified employees are not eligible to hold an additional position as a noon aide. In addition, any current noon aide is not eligible to hold an additional classified position.

Prior to employment the following must be completed: Per board policy 4112.4/4212.4/4312.4, the cost of pre-employment examinations shall be paid by the applicant. Fingerprinting: Employees will be charged for processing their fingerprints at the time they are hired. The fingerprints are used to complete a confidential background investigation. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such on the confidential data form, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal. Physical examination: Newly hired employees must pass a qualifying medical examination given by a district-appointed physician, which includes testing for illegal controlled substances. Tuberculosis exam: Newly hired employees must submit a Mantoux skin screening and certificate of completion within the past 60 days that indicates freedom from active tuberculosis. An eligibility verification form (I-9) will be required along with the supporting documents listed on the I-9 form.
