Position Title: Full Time Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher Assistant/Support Staff The Columbus Torah Teacher Assistant/Support Staff for the 2026-27 academic year. Columbus Torah Academy, an independent K-12 Jewish day school accredited by ISACS, is located on the east side of Columbus on a private campus. The open position is for a full-time teacher assistant/support staff. Columbus Torah Academy is an independent college preparatory school with approximately 140 students in the lower school (grades K-5). Our classes are small, and our teacher assistants enjoy getting to know their students well. Responsibilities The Teacher Assistant/Teacher Support staff’s primary duties will be to: Support high quality instruction in classroom Support with overall classroom management Support small group instruction in multiple subjects Collect academic/behavioral data for classroom teacher Work collaboratively with the lead teachers Help to support hands on learning activities to students with high levels of student engagement Supervise lunch and recess duties Support arrival and departure of students At times, be able to substitute for a teacher that is absent Desired Skills and Expertise Bachelor of Arts degree Preferred Teacher Assistant license Preferred Teacher Substitute license or ability to obtain that license 2-5 years experience working with children in Kindergarten-5th grade.
