We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown for a 13-week contract in Columbia, Missouri. The RN will care for higher-acuity medical, surgical, and neurological patients requiring progressive care monitoring and interventions.

Candidates must have strong critical care skills, including vasoactive drip titration, advanced line management, respiratory support, and complex patient care. Experience in both ICU and PCU is preferred. Floating to other units based on staffing and patient care needs is required.

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care and stepdown patients with complex medical, surgical, and neurological conditions.

• Assess and continuously monitor patients, recognize changes in clinical condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.

• Titrate ordered vasoactive and cardiac medications, including medications such as phenylephrine, amiodarone, and diltiazem, according to established protocols.

• Manage IVs, PICC and central lines, arterial lines, vascular access devices, dialysis fistulas, respiratory support, feeding tubes, PCA/epidural pumps, and wound vacs.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams while maintaining accurate documentation and floating to other units as required.

• Minimum 2 Years of Critical Care Registered Nurse Experience Required; Combined ICU and PCU Experience Preferred.

• Current, Active Registered Nurse License Required; Applicable Missouri Nursing Practice Requirements Must Be Met Before Start.

• Current BLS/BCLS Certification Required.

• Current ACLS Certification Required.

• Proficiency With Vasoactive Drip Titration, IV/PICC/Central and A-Line Management, CPAP/BiPAP, Trach Care, PCA/Epidural Pumps, Feeding Tubes, and Wound Vac Care Required; Ability to Float Required.

This contract opportunity is suited for an experienced PCU/Stepdown RN with strong critical care skills who is comfortable managing higher-acuity patients and floating based on clinical needs.
