Project Manager - Engineering
On-Site: Henderson, CO
Rate: $45.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Job Summary:
Create and distribute engine core condition reports and root-cause failure analysis reports to customers.
Apply comprehensive knowledge in performing skilled activities supporting the product engineering team and manufacturing business needs. Collaborate with relevant functions to select and utilize appropriate resources, tools, and specialty equipment. Demonstrate thorough understanding of safe work protocols with electricity and other energy sources in industrial environments. Act as a formal team resource, leading and coordinating others as needed. Adapt quickly and effectively to changes in the manufacturing environment.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in the industry. Core Responsibilities

• Complete Failure Analysis and Core Condition Reports for customer distribution.
  • Core Condition Reports require:
    • Use of Excel
    • Editing photos
    • Identifying types and severity of engine component wear using manufacturer-specific classifications
    • Professional, clear communication with branches and field engineers
  • Failure Analysis involves:
    • Using Microsoft Word
    • Photographing and editing images of engine components
    • Handling a wide range of parts depending on type of failure
    • Applying critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to determine failure root causes, particularly for 45/50/60/78L engines
    • Consistent, professional communication with branches and field engineers
    • Occasional cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams
• Host customer visits as needed to review Core Analysis and Failure Analysis reports.
• Support product engineering projects, including data collection and documentation using Excel and internal collaboration systems.
• Prepare technical documentation for knowledge sharing and productivity improvements.
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards:
  • Stop work and report hazards or injuries immediately
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Proactively improve workplace safety and environmental impact
  • Participate in HSE training
• Ensure high standards of quality and craftsmanship:
  • Support equipment failure analysis
  • Work from diagrams, manuals, and specifications
  • Perform quality inspections and feedback for preventive maintenance
  • Maintain and document preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance activities
  • Keep work area clean and organized
• Work with teams to identify and solve manufacturing constraints, improve processes, and implement solutions
• Communicate effectively with assigned and supporting teams
• Complete personal training and development per business needs
• Participate in improvement teams (e.g., Total Productive Maintenance) to enhance quality, safety, process, and employee development

Required Skills

• Knowledge and experience with engine components and systems
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); training provided as needed
• High-quality photo-taking and editing skills (training provided)
• Clear, professional communication (in-person, virtual meetings, and email)
• Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with 45/50/60/78L products from industry-leading diesel engine manufacturers, especially in mining applications
• At least 3 years’ experience with engine disassembly/assembly and/or field troubleshooting

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• High school diploma or completion of secondary education, or equivalent relevant experience per applicable regulations
