Registered Nurse - Med/Surg/Tele

This position is responsible for delivering optimal patient care by utilizing knowledge and skills within the nursing process. The individual will be accountable for individualized patient outcomes throughout the care episode, providing comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families or caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for the assigned patient population.
• Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems in a timely and effective manner.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care tailored to each patient's needs.
• Demonstrate cognitive and psychosocial understanding specific to the patient demographics served.
• Engage with families or significant others in the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation processes.
• Adhere to age-specific competency standards as mandated by the unit or department.
• Utilize scientific knowledge to support ongoing learning and application of nursing practices.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Two or more years of experience in Med Surg/Tele nursing is mandatory.
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least one 13-week assignment is required.
• Must successfully pass a telemetry competency exam, including the ability to identify and measure telemetry rhythm strips.

Work Requirements

• Commitment to floating to various patient care areas within the competency scope as needed.
• Willingness to pick up one additional shift during each scheduling period.
• Understand that there may be call-offs due to low census without penalty, with notifications provided 48 hours in advance.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional call shifts based on department needs.
