About the Role:

The Food Service Worker II plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and hygienic preparation and delivery of food products within a retail trade environment. This position focuses on maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and customer service to enhance the overall customer experience. The role requires collaboration with team members to manage inventory, prepare food items according to established recipes and guidelines, and maintain cleanliness in all food preparation and service areas. The Food Service Worker II is responsible for adhering to all health and safety regulations while supporting daily operational needs. Ultimately, this position contributes to the smooth functioning of the food service department, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service or a related field preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in food handling or food safety (e.g., ServSafe).
• Experience working in a retail food service setting.
• Familiarity with inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual skills to assist a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve food items in accordance with company standards and health regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and service areas, including equipment and utensils.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Provide courteous and efficient customer service, addressing customer inquiries and requests promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely food production and delivery during peak hours.
• Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents to management immediately.
• Assist in training new staff members on food preparation and safety procedures as needed.

Skills:

The required skills such as food safety knowledge and effective communication are essential for daily tasks like preparing food safely and interacting with customers and team members. Physical stamina and attention to detail ensure that food preparation areas remain clean and organized, supporting compliance with health regulations.
