This role is responsible for leading the strategy, content creation, and execution of organic social media across platforms, with a strong emphasis on static imagery, GIFs, and short-form video (Reels, Shorts, TikTok).The ideal candidate is both a storyteller and a content creator-someone who can concept, capture, and produce compelling social assets that drive engagement, expand audience reach, and deepen connection to our productions and community.   RESPONSIBILITIES:Social Media Strategy & ExecutionDevelop and execute platform-specific social media strategies that drive engagement, audience growth, and brand awarenessBuild and maintain a content calendar aligned with campaign priorities, production timelines, and institutional initiativesOwn day-to-day management of social channels, including planning, posting, and community engagementMonitor platform trends and emerging formats to continuously evolve strategy and content approachContent Creation & Video ProductionCreate original, platform-native content (graphic, video, etc.) that reflects the voice, energy, and storytelling of Arena Stage productionsConcept, capture, and edit high-performing short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)Collaborate with internal teams (artistic, production, marketing) to identify and execute content opportunitiesAttend rehearsals, events, and performances as needed to capture behind-the-scenes and in-the-moment contentInfluencer & Partnership SupportSupport the execution of influencer campaigns in collaboration with the Integrated Marketing SpecialistAssist in identifying creators and managing content coordination to ensure alignment with campaign goalsHelp track performance and surface insights to inform future partnershipsAnalytics & OptimizationMonitor performance metrics across platforms, including engagement, reach, and video performanceTranslate data into actionable insights to refine content strategy and improve resultsProvide regular reporting on social performance and key learnings Qualifications3–5 years of experience in social media management, digital content creation, or a related fieldProven experience creating and editing short-form video content for social platformsStrong understanding of social media trends, platform best practices, and audience engagement strategiesProficiency in tools such as Canva, social media scheduling platforms, and video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro)Experience with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and IllustratorExcellent storytelling instincts with a strong visual and creative sensibilityStrong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesOutgoing, collaborative, and comfortable capturing content in live, fast-paced environments Preferred QualificationsExperience in arts, entertainment, or live eventsFamiliarity with influencer marketing and creator partnershipsBasic knowledge of paid social or campaign integration is a plusWorking ConditionsIn-office work, with an ability to be hybrid as neededRegular evening and weekend availability required for performances, events, and content captureWhat Success Looks LikeEngaging, high-quality social content that reflects the vibrancy of Arena StageGrowth in audience engagement and platform reachStrong alignment between social storytelling and broader marketing campaignsA consistent, dynamic digital presence that brings the live theater experience to life online The Washington Drama Society, Inc., Arena Stage does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.If you are a qualified individual with a disability or a disabled veteran, you may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to access job openings or apply for a job on this site as a result of your disability.
