Heavy Equipment OperatorAvenal Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Avenal, CA! Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with the possibility of working every other Saturday from 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (overtime hours as needed). Compensation: Starting pay is $22-$26 per hour, based on experience. The pay range for the job category is $22-27 per hour. Our commitment to running a successful, growing business creates endless opportunities for career advancement and a culture that values happy, motivated team members.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate Dozer, Excavator, and Loader to manage waste and debrisMove and grade soil as needed to maintain site operationsConduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipmentProvide assistance to customers and team members as requiredResponsibly operate a company vehicle for parts running as needed, ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials.Working ConditionsWork is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and occasional rain.The position involves physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.The environment may be dusty, noisy, and require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing protection, gloves, and safety boots.There will be exposure to machinery and heavy equipment, so safety protocols and precautions are strictly followed.Minimum Job Requirements2+ years of heavy equipment operating experienceAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift 50 pounds unassistedMust pass a pre-employment background check and drug screenValid driver's license with clean recordAbility to work effectively in various outdoor conditions, including exposure to weather elements, physical labor, and a dynamic work environment.To be considered for this position, please complete an application at Further instructions will be provided once you select your position of interest.
