Schedule

Day shifts available - 5x8 hours (06:00 - 14:30 and 07:30 - 16:00).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) will provide essential care for patients recovering from surgery or anesthesia. The ideal candidate will have experience in ambulatory and outpatient settings and demonstrate proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and post-operative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre and post-operative care to patients.
• Administer medication and manage medication reconciliation.
• Perform pain assessments and management.
• Obtain operative and procedural consent from patients.
• Start and maintain IVs for fluid administration.
• Follow malignant hyperthermia protocols as needed.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in PACU or similar settings.
• Current RN license (NC or compact state license).
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.
• Experience with pediatrics and emergency medications preferred.
• Ability to float to other ASCs as needed.
