Quality Assurance Tech - Quality Assurance Tech IILocation: North Reading, Massachusetts (Onsite)Compensation: $37 - $47 HourlyRole OverviewWe are seeking a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer for a contract position. This role is for a technically strong, hands-on individual capable of working independently to troubleshoot issues and debug initial error logs. The position supports robotics hardware validation, including hands-on test execution, debugging software error logs, maintaining electromechanical systems, and ensuring test infrastructure is operational. This role works with Developers, Product Managers, and other Quality Engineers to ensure the proper operation of robotic systems.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute hands-on hardware validation tests on robotic systems, developing test approaches as the program matures.Debug software error logs and troubleshoot hardware and software interface issues independently.Maintain electromechanical systems, including routine inspections and preventive maintenance.Ensure test infrastructure is operational, including robotic platforms, sensors, actuators, and controllers.Interface with software tools to configure test environments, initiate test runs, and verify system readiness.Interpret test results, identify anomalies, and document findings clearly.Escalate issues to the Hardware Test Engineering team and Science team with clear, actionable documentation.Perform root cause analysis on hardware failures and system faults.Support system bring-up, integration testing, and commissioning of new robotic hardware.Maintain lab organization, tool calibration, and equipment inventory.Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Automation engineers to resolve system-level issues.Identify use cases, create test cases, execute tests, and report results throughout the development cycle.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.Experience: 2+ years of experience in hardware testing, electromechanical systems maintenance, or robotics operations.Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret software error logs, system diagnostics, and technical documentation. Hands-on experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems including motors, actuators, sensors, and controllers. Proficiency with basic hand tools, electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software. Proficiency working in a Linux or Unix environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle.General coding or scripting experience such as Python, Bash, or similar languages for test automation, data parsing, or workflow scripting.Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
