Who We AreThe Atlantic Region Property and Casualty practice, with locations in Boston MA and Burlington VT, provides actuarial consulting services on a range of projects across the insurance, reinsurance, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and alternative-risk markets. While most of our team’s time is spent working with members of the practice, we also have assignments that are completed in partnership with other Milliman offices around the world.We believe that the actuarial skillset has important applications across both our traditional actuarial work and our work in developing market areas, and are committed to developing a pipeline of actuarial talent and future leaders of the firm through exam support and interaction with senior colleagues.What You Will DoIn our practice, a Consulting Actuary is responsible for high-level peer review and project oversight, building and maintaining client relationships, and mentoring or managing less-experienced actuaries on the team. Our ideal hire for this role is someone who enjoys thinking critically to solve a client’s business problems; pairs strong technical skills with creativity; and is adept in independently managing their own workload.Much of this person’s work will involve complex data manipulation and summarization in Excel, but supplemental programming, statistical, and database skills are highly valued and will open up additional opportunities for impactful client assignments and advancement. Candidates with five or more years of relevant full-time actuarial experience who are not local to one of these two locations may apply for remote work.Additional periodic travel may be required nationwide for meetings, conferences, and team events (up to 20%).CompensationThe overall salary range for this role is $103,500 - $214,820.
