Research Analyst

About this role


Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Research Analyst. The Research Analyst will function as a Community Health Worker and assist with implementation of activities to enhance and expand meaningful community engagement around HIV Cluster Detection and Response in Los Angeles County as required by the CDC HIV Centers for Outbreak Response Enhancement (C-CORE) grant. In this role, they will support Los Angeles County DPHs Division of HIV and STDs internal capacity building activities, collaborate with community-based organizations to facilitate communication related to cluster response activities, and lead community engagement activities with local community-based organizations. The Research Analyst will also coordinate and conduct field-based outreach during HIV/STI community testing events, in populations or areas impacted by rapid HIV transmission. They will they will play a substantive role in developing community-facing materials and soliciting input from community on materials.


The Research Analyst will report directly to the Deputy Project Coordinator and will support other program activities as needed, including performing data entry and data analysis, and attending CDC conference calls, and staff meetings.


The positions will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and are initially funded through 12/31/26, with the good chance of extension, but is expected to extend through 7/31/27.


Pay Rate: $34.89/hr working 40 hours a week


Location : Full Time - The Research Analyst will be expected to perform their duties according to a flexible schedule that may occasionally include evening and weekend hours.

Requirements:

• A master's degree in a field of the behavioral or social sciences and one year's post master's research experience -or-
• A bachelor's degree in a field of the behavioral or social sciences and any combination of relevant education and/or experience totaling three years; and
• A valid Class C California Drivers License, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to a variety of sites throughout Los Angeles County.
• The ideal candidate will be skilled at connecting with underserved communities, have some data entry experience, be bilingual (English and Spanish), and have some knowledge or experience working with organizations conducting HIV/STI work in Los Angeles County. This position is expected to work a hybrid schedule, with at least 2 days either in the office (downtown Los Angeles) or in the field each week.
