Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill infants and children, ensuring their health and wellbeing in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PICU patients with complex medical needs.
• Float to other units, including the Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU), as required based on patient census.
• Maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Adhere to established protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety and compliance with health regulations.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience, with exposure to CICU preferred.
• Valid compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to work in a high-stress environment.
• Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Schedule and Expectations

• Day shift, with 4x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00).
• Blocked schedules available for those committed to working all weekends.
• Every other weekend availability is required.
• Minimum of 2 holidays to be worked during the contract period is expected.
• Requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application; a maximum of 5 days may be requested.

Vaccination Requirement

All candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with no exceptions provided.

Additional Information

Travelers within a certain radius will be considered local with corresponding rate implications. Please be aware that former employees are not eligible for contract positions for one year after their termination date.
