Health System Specialist

Duties

Serve as principal deputy and act as the Chief Administrator in their absence or as delegated. Assist in establishing priorities, coordinating staff actions, tracking suspense items, and ensuring timely execution of organizational objectives.

Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating programs, initiatives, and operational activities within the Chief Administrator's (SGA) portfolio.

Monitor progress toward objectives; identifies risks, issues, and resource constraints; and recommend corrective actions to the Chief Administrator (SGA).

Serve as a Personnel Management action officer. Oversee personnel actions within the organization, to include all hiring (as applicable), orientation, workload management, counseling, rating or other management actions.

Support budget formulation, execution, and oversight for assigned programs.

Review funding requirements and expenditure data; monitor obligations and execution rates; identify potential shortfalls or unfunded requirements; and prepare recommendations for resource allocation and prioritization.

Assist with workforce planning, staffing, performance-management, employee-development, awards, recognition, and workload-distribution activities.

Develop and review executive-level briefings, issue papers, correspondence, reports, meeting materials, and decision memoranda. Ensure products are accurate, responsive, coordinated, and presented in a clear manner suitable for senior-leader review.
