Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (12-Hour Nights)

Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Every-other-weekend rotation | No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department serving a diverse patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, respiratory emergencies, adult psych, and chest pain
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with potential flex to 1:5 for lower-acuity patients
• Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV insertion and management, drip and medication administration, procedural sedation, and blood administration
• Document accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR ; operate Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Monitor patients via central and bedside telemetry at the nursing station
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including ER techs, charge nurses, respiratory therapy (24/7), pharmacy (24/7), security (24/7), and a house supervisor (24/7)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• Minimum 1 year of strong, recent Emergency Department experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB
• Traveler Competency Exam (Telemetry) must be completed and passed prior to start date
• Epic EMR proficiency required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center environment
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Experience managing high-volume ED settings (averaging 140–150 patients per day)
• Comfort with adult psychiatric patient care within an ED setting
