We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care, emergency room experience, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region. Job Summary Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts,sprainsand minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skillsin order torecognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. Per Diem employes must be available to work 3days inevery28 daysblock including 1 weekend shift. Job Requirements Education Bachelor’s Degree_requiredfor Physician Assistants_ Master’s Degreerequiredfor Nurse Practitioners Work Experience One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experiencerequired. Required Licenses/Certifications National Certification Active state medical licensure Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc. Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-raysrequired. Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care settingrequired. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills Strong communicationand customer service skills Essential Functions Examining and treating patients Taking patients’ medical histories Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays Making diagnoses and prescribing medications Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting Recording progress notes for follow-up patients Educating and counseling patients Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients Giving vaccinations, and referring patients toadditionalcare Each provider will workan anticipatedeight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care All other duties as assigned Note: thisjob description is not inclusive of all the duties of the position.You may be asked by leaders to perform other duties.Management reserves the right to revise this position description at any time.
