Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking a full-time Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist to work in the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems Directorate, Minuteman III (MMIII) Division at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah.

This position (206014) is an NH-0346-04 which has a typical 2026 salary range of $125,776- $192,331.

The AFNWC MMIII Division manages the current ICBM technical integrated life-cycle activities, including equipment spares, storage and transportation, modifications, and equipment replacement. America's nuclear triad remains capable, flexible, resilient and ready, but it must be continually modernized to maintain a credible deterrent against current and emerging threats. This position plays an important role in providing a strategic deterrent to nuclear attack against the United States.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the MMIII Propulsion Branch Chief responsible for the successful execution of the MMIII Propulsion programs to include Booster Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM), Propulsion Solid Rocket Engine (PSRE) PDM, Stage One Flight Control Battery Replacement, as well as risk management for viability of the Propulsion subsystem through end of life MMIII.

DUTIES:

• Serves as MMIII Propulsion Branch Chief as described above.

• Serves as the Propulsion Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead to sustain field worthy assets until a suitable replacement for the MMIII weapon system is fielded; develops and successfully executes Propulsion IPT-related objectives and key results to support Propulsion critical Lines of Effort.

• Represents the MMIII Propulsion Branch within the government and to contractor/industry representatives; delivers presentations on project/program status, accomplishments, challenges encountered and anticipated, support requirements, and the integration and advocacy of program and project objectives.

• Provides direction to the Subsystem Support Contract Program Manager and the Integrated Support Contract Program Manager in support of the MMIII Propulsion sub-systems.

• Provides continuous assessment/evaluation of overall Propulsion program goals, objectives, strategies and performance to ensure a sound basis for follow-on ICBM system life-cycle support planning.

• Ensures programmatic issues concerning the welfare of each Propulsion sub-system are addressed and the relevant risks are mitigated within a timely manner.

• Performs typical supervisory and personnel management tasks: assigns and manages work within the Branch; acquires necessary resources to accomplish the mission; sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities: and provides feedback and evaluations for assigned employees.

SKILLS:

• NH-0346-04 positions require four (4) or more years of progressively complex life-cycle logistics management experience.

• Refined communication and teamwork skills sufficient to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, as well as the independence, assertiveness, self-reliance, and tenacity to get the job done are required to successfully perform the duties of this position.

• Experience in mentoring, leading and/or supervising others is highly valued.

• Experience leading diverse working groups or teams and setting clear mission objectives to achieve desired results and outcomes is highly desired.

• Understanding of DoD weapon systems issues, and experience working with government organizations in areas such as acquisition, production, maintenance, repair, life-cycle logistics, engineering support, testing and evaluation, or other sustainment activities is strongly preferred.

• Experience with ICBMs, particularly MMIII propulsion systems, is ideal.

• U.S. CITIZENSHIP

• Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.

• Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Lifecycle Logistics Management "Advanced" certification category within required timeframe after appointment.

• This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Unless specifically waived by the appropriate component official, i.e., the Director of Acquisition Career Management for the component, the Service Acquisition Executive, or the Service Secretary, the following are statutorily mandated requirements. (1) Selectee must be a member of an Acquisition Corps, be able to obtain membership within six months IAW 10 USC 1733 and 1737 or secure an approved position requirements waiver prior to assignment unless they meet all the requirements for membership except grade. (2) Selectee must execute, as a condition of employment, a written agreement to remain in federal service in this position for at least three years. In signing such agreement, the employee does not forfeit any employment rights, nor does such agreement alter any other terms or conditions of employment. (3) Selectee must meet advanced certification requirements or be able to meet them within 24 months of assignment (with a waiver). (4) This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.

• In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
