Remote opportunities not available at this time.JOB SUMMARYTeaching students in the nursing clinical setting and assisting in the classroom as needed.Professional RequirementsA registered nurse with a minimum of an associate degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.Licensed to practice nursing in South Dakota.Has a minimum of three years of practice in healthcare.Has a minimum of one-year clinical experience, as a registered nurse, in the area of teaching responsibility.Encouraged to be a member of a professional nursing organization.Excellent people skills, affinity for working with students, patients, and coworkers.Computer literate.Personal RequirementsWillingness to assume responsibility for professional development through continuing education.Displays skills in teaching and use of technology.Possesses the ability to motivate students to become lifelong learners.Works in partnership with other faculty members to create an effective teaching team.Demonstrates personal and professional integrity and responsibility.Job RequirementsDemonstrates understanding and support of the philosophy and mission of the school and nursing department.Displays knowledge of the role and scope of practice of the licensed practical nurse.Demonstrates competence in nursing especially in area of teaching responsibility.Reports to the Nursing Department Supervisor, Dean of Academics, Vice President.Job ResponsibilitiesOrients self to clinical units, specific to areas of responsibility.Supervises, instructs, and evaluates students in the clinical area.Assists in the development and maintenance of collegial relationships with college and clinical agency staff.Assists with student advising.Fosters and upholds to policies of the college and the specific policies of the nursing department.REPORTS TO: Nursing Department Supervisor, Dean of Academics, Vice PresidentTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Hourly rate set by the Watertown School Board. The rate for 2025-2026 is $40.50 per hour.
