Sr. Technical Project Manager

Our client, an investment firm, is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, planning and executing tactical and strategic projects within Technology. Responsibilities Project Management: Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and closure of software development, IE&O, or Cybersecurity focused projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and documentation. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, product managers, and executive leadership. Facilitate clear and consistent communication, ensuring transparency around project status and key decisions. Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones. Coordinate efforts between software developers, technical stakeholders, QA engineers, and operations staff to ensure cohesive and aligned project delivery. Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks, dependencies, and blockers early in the project lifecycle. Proactively develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans, escalating critical issues as needed. Quality Assurance: Drive and enforce quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that deliverables meet both technical requirements and business objectives. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation, including timelines, status reports, risk registers, KPIs and meeting notes. Present regular progress updates and executive summaries to senior leadership. Demonstrate a strong understanding of Objective and Key Results (OKRs) to set clear project goals, measure progress, and align team efforts with organizational priorities throughout each phase of the project. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in the areas of IT, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Value-drive project management orientation. Well versed in Jira & Confluence. 5+ years Technical Project Management relevant work experience. Financial services industry experience a plus but not required. PMO, PMP, CEC and/or Six Sigma Project Management Certification preferred. Experience managing operating budgets and/or project financials. Agile experience required. Ability to navigate highly complex projects with multiple cross-collaboration partners. Strong understanding of SDLC. Balanced project management experience with software development, IE&O, and Cybersecurity priorities. Direct experience managing AI, machine learning, or data science initiatives from inception through deployment is a plus. Understanding global regulatory standards and compliance considerations relevant to AI development and deployment is a plus. Experience managing projects with globally distributed teams, including effective collaboration across cultures and time zones.
