Patient Service Rep - Jane Pauley PEDs - East
Community Health Network
Responsibilities Work in conjunction with providers and clinical staff to take care of patients’ administrative needs. This role is responsible for: checking patients in for appointments, collecting patient payments, answering telephones, taking accurate messages, scheduling appointments, checking patients out, coordinating referrals, and checking insurance eligibility. The position utilizes our electronic medical record system to verify and update patient demographic information, as well as posting and balancing payments collected. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment or a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred. Strong computer skills, including experience with intranet and internet usage, Excel, Word, email, and web-based applications. Strong listening and communication skills, ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, attention to detail, strong organization skills, and teamwork.
