Truck Maintenance Technician

Position summary: Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on all types of trucks and/or equipment to maximize safe and productive operations on site at customer's locations. This position will have an impact in the following areas: customer relations, equipment diagnosis, failures of a motor vehicle and/or its related equipment and will involve professionalism, service/product training, and gathering new business relationships with prospective customers.

Representative responsibilities include inspecting trucks and/or equipment, for condition, operation, parts and fluid levels; checking, filling and changing out appropriate fluids for all vehicle parts including engine, transmission, differentials, final drives, pump drives and hubs; greasing, oiling, and lubricating components during preventive maintenance service; performing adjustments to various systems during preventive maintenance service; maintaining and/or changing air, oil, coolant and fuel filters; performing cooling systems maintenance; identifying and designating problems; completing necessary repair and preventive maintenance work; checking safety equipment on truck and/or equipment; driving truck in and out of repair area; following all safety policies and procedures; completing required paperwork, documenting parts and material usage and accounts for applied times; representing the company core values and adhering to the guidelines of the employee handbook on a daily basis to all internal and external customers; and performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical requirements include lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling at least 50 pounds; climbing into and out of truck; and working in the outside environment.

Experience, education, certifications: required valid driver license and valid Class A CDL or the ability to obtain within 60 days of employment. Preferred equivalent of a high school diploma or G.E.D certification, prior mechanic experience, automotive certification, service excellence classification: medium/heavy truck.
